March 25, 2026 — The Davao City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) has announced a series of road closures and traffic adjustments for the upcoming Parada Dabawenyo and Konsierto Dabawenyo on March 28, in celebration of the 89th Araw ng Dabaw.

In an advisory released Tuesday, the CTTMO said the traffic plan aims to ensure public safety and smooth flow of vehicles during the city’s major events, which are expected to draw large crowds. With thousands of participants and spectators expected to attend, authorities are urging the public to cooperate and follow traffic advisories to ensure a smooth and successful celebration.

The Parada Dabawenyo will begin at 6 a.m. on March 28, with the parade route starting at Roxas Avenue, then passing through C.M. Recto Avenue, Rizal Street, Iñigo Street, and ending at San Pedro Street.

To prepare for the activities, road closures have already started as early as March 24 at 1 a.m., particularly along San Pedro Street (from C.M. Recto Avenue to Bolton Street) to give way for stage setup at San Pedro Square.

Additional partial closures will also be implemented on March 26 at Roxas Avenue (Marco Polo Grounds) for further event preparations.

On the day of the parade, authorities will enforce a full road closure starting at 4 a.m. along the entire parade route and all connecting streets. Roads will only reopen after the last parade contingent has passed through.

The CTTMO also reminded business owners and motorists that parking along the parade route is strictly prohibited. Clearing operations will begin at 10 p.m. on March 27, and any vehicles left in restricted areas may be removed.

Following the morning parade, the Konsierto Dabawenyo will take place at San Pedro Square starting at 7 p.m., prompting additional traffic restrictions in the evening.

During the concert, “No Entry” zones will be enforced in several key intersections, including:

  • Bolton Street–Pichon Street
  • San Pedro Street–C.M. Recto Avenue
  • Rizal Street–Bolton Street
  • Rizal Street–C. Bangoy Street

Motorists are advised to expect heavy traffic in downtown areas and to plan their trips accordingly.

Alternate Routes

To help ease congestion, the CTTMO recommends using alternate routes such as C.M. Recto Avenue, Rizal Street, and Iñigo Street. However, if traffic builds up along Rizal Street, drivers are encouraged to divert to Bonifacio Street.

Traffic personnel will be deployed throughout the affected areas to manage vehicle flow and assist motorists.

The agency emphasized that these road closures and traffic management measures are necessary to maintain order and safety during the festivities, which are among the most anticipated events of the Araw ng Dabaw celebration.

Motorists are encouraged to stay updated through official CTTMO announcements and to allow extra travel time to avoid inconvenience.
