Muntinlupa Number Coding Hours

In Muntinlupa City, coding hours only apply on Alabang-Zapote Road. The coding schedule follows the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) scheme: 7:00–10:00 AM and 5:00–8:00 PM (Monday to Friday). You can still drive during the window hours from 10:01 AM to 4:59 PM, and the other roads in Muntinlupa City have no coding restrictions at all.

Because most of its internal roads can still handle traffic with no restrictions, Muntinlupa is one of the few cities in Metro Manila with very limited number coding enforcement. Unlike cities like Makati or Manila where coding is city-wide, Muntinlupa only enforces it on specific national roads and selected intersections ne arS&R area, Las Piñas boundary, and Buencamino & Northgate access points. Even busy roads like Commerce Avenue and Madrigal Avenue are not covered, unless traffic policies temporarily change.

Muntinlupa Coding Hours

Muntinlupa City is generally a no-coding city, with the exception of critical choke points such as:

1. Alabang–Zapote Road: This is a major intercity corridor linking Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, and Cavite with a generally high volume of public transport, delivery trucks, and private vehicles. For this reason, it frequently has bottlenecks, especially during rush hour.

Covered sections:

  • From Las Piñas boundary entering Alabang
  • Stretch near S&R and Filinvest area
  • Intersections connecting to Buencamino Street and Northgate

2. Select Junctions Connected to Alabang–Zapote Road: These areas act as funnels, pushing vehicles into already congested main roads so controlling entry helps prevent gridlock buildup. These aren’t always fully coded end-to-end, but enforcement happens at the following choke points, especially during peak hours:

  • Entry/exit points near Filinvest / Northgate
  • Busy intersections feeding into Alabang–Zapote Road

Despite the limited coding restrictions, learning about the coding rules and where it applies can help you avoid unnecessary trouble and penalties.

For these coded roads, you can take note of the following coding rules:

  • Morning restriction: 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM
  • Evening restriction: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Window hours: 10:01 AM – 4:59 PM
  • Days enforced: Monday to Friday (no coding on holidays)

During window hours, even coded vehicles are allowed to pass.

To keep it simple, take note of the following:

  • If you’re not passing through Alabang-Zapote Road, you’re usually safe
  • If you must pass there, just avoid peak coding hours
  • If it is your coding day, aim for the window hours—it’s your safest legal window

Tips and Reminders

If you want to avoid stress and unnecessary trouble with the authorities, make sure to keep these in mind:

  • Plan routes that avoid Alabang-Zapote Road on coding days
  • Travel during window hours whenever possible
  • Use alternate roads inside Alabang (Commerce, Madrigal)
  • Check local traffic pages like Alabang Bulletins before leaving
  • If unsure—delay your trip by 30–60 minutes instead of risking a fine
