The Angono Public Order Safety and Security – Traffic Management Group (PSO-TMG) is the local government’s traffic enforcement and public safety arm in-charge of directing traffic, conducting clearing operations, or enforcing local ordinances.
As an agency, it serves as the municipal government’s frontline traffic and public safety unit established to serve like the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), but only in Angono. It was designed to help manage vehicle flow, enforce traffic regulations, oversee transport-related concerns, and work with other agencies to maintain peace and order throughout the municipality.
What Does It Do?

The PSO-TMG handles programs and services that directly affect drivers, commuters, pedestrians, and transport operators, such as:
Traffic Enforcement and Road Safety
One of its primary responsibilities is enforcing local traffic ordinances. Traffic personnel are deployed to major roads, intersections, school zones, and high-traffic areas to help manage congestion and ensure the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
The unit also apprehends violators involved in offenses such as:
- Illegal parking
- Overloading
- Coding violations
- Open or modified mufflers
- Driving without a valid license
- Violations committed by tricycle and motorcycle operators
By consistently enforcing these regulations, the agency helps create safer roads for everyone in Angono.
Clearing Operations and Road Obstruction Removal
Another major responsibility of the PSO-TMG is conducting clearing operations.
These operations focus on removing road and sidewalk obstructions that affect traffic flow and pedestrian safety. Personnel regularly inspect public areas and coordinate with barangay officials to clear illegally parked vehicles, unauthorized structures, illegal stalls, and other obstacles occupying public spaces.
Recent clearing activities in Barangay Mahabang Parang were conducted to improve pedestrian access, reduce traffic congestion, and ensure compliance with local ordinances.
Public Order and Community Safety
The PSO-TMG is not limited to traffic management alone. The agency also contributes to maintaining public order and safety throughout Angono.
Working alongside barangay officials, the Civil Security Unit (CSU), and local law enforcement agencies, the group helps secure public events, support municipal programs, and respond to concerns that may affect community safety.
This collaborative approach allows the municipality to address both traffic-related and public safety issues more effectively.
Transportation Regulation and Tricycle Monitoring
The agency also helps regulate local public transportation services, particularly tricycles operating within Angono.
Its duties include monitoring compliance with transport regulations, checking driver credentials, ensuring proper fare implementation, and responding to commuter complaints.
The PSO-TMG regularly reminds passengers to take note of a tricycle’s TODA affiliation and body number. This information can help authorities quickly identify drivers if complaints or incidents need to be investigated.
Public Assistance Offered by the Angono PSO-TMG

Motorists, transport operators, and residents may seek assistance regarding:
- Traffic violations and enforcement concerns
- Illegal parking complaints
- Road obstruction reports
- Sidewalk clearing concerns
- Tricycle and transport-related complaints
- Traffic advisories and road management concerns
- Public safety and ordinance enforcement issues
Current Programs and Enforcement Initiatives
One of the agency’s ongoing campaigns is Operation Modified Muffler, which targets motorcycles equipped with excessively loud mufflers that disturb residents and communities.
The PSO-TMG also conducts joint enforcement operations with the Municipal Tricycle Franchise and Regulatory Office (MTFRO). These operations focus on identifying violations involving open mufflers, coding restrictions, missing driver identification cards, fare-related offenses, and unlicensed drivers.
These initiatives demonstrate the municipality’s commitment to safer roads and responsible vehicle operation.
